Conference Weekend

Wow! That's a freaky face. I don't think he thought I would post this on the blog!

This is my parents storage/attic area, a.k.a. the play room. The kids love to play in it.

My boys watch a lot of Disney shows. This is Cohen playing the drums and Ammon singing. They are suppose to be the Jonas Brothers.

I love conference weekend. Nothing like watching church in your pj's, eating yummy food next to a warm fire. I think we should make it a tradition to go to my parents for general conference. I think it's safe to say that Ammon and Cohen run that house when they come to town.

Happy 24th Lindser

Lindsey's 24th birthday was yesterday. No I did not forget. I tried to call her but she didn't answer. So I left her a message with a beautiful rendition of "Happy Birthday to You".


What can I say? I love this girl. Over the years we have shared millions of laughs together. She just brings out the goofy side in me. We became more than sisters in high school. The nice sister that I am, let her hang out with me and my friends. I was a senior and she was a freshman. When she moved to Provo as a Freshman, we did everything together. We even worked the same two jobs.

Lindsey is so wonderful. A loving wife, caring mom, talented writer and a great cook (never thought I'd say that one). She's just a fabulous person. I miss her so much and hope that someday we can all live near each other. Happy Birthday Linds! I hope you had a fun day.

I'm finally posting the few pictures I took in Georgia. We had such a good time there. We were able to go wakeboarding with Jody's brothers family, go to the temple (thanks to Jen who so willingly watched our kids), ate at the Cheesecake Factory (my personal fav) and spent a lot of time with our family. Ammon and Cohen had a great time being the center of attention. They are the youngest kids on the Edmondson side of the family and it's great because they are always being entertained and someone was always wanting to hold Rylee. Our Georgia relatives will be happy to hear that Ammon packed a bag and told us he was going to Georgia yesterday. His going to Georgia was walking up the stairs and when he came back down he was back from his trip. Cohen has been doing the same thing today.

We were also lucky to drive to Knoxville to see Gram and Gramps. I love those two so much! I know that all of my cousins feel the same. No one could ask for better grandparents. I miss them so much. Like always Grandma fed us delicious food and kept Kasey and I laughing the whole time. A highlight from the trip was when Kasey and I were talking about nursing and how much it has affected our breasts. Grandma said, "Well you just put a little cotton where God's forgotten." We about died laughing. I just love that little lady!

My Quilt

This is it so far. I still have to sew the blocks together and add borders and batting. I can't wait to finish it. Next on my list, pillow cases!

Hello

In case you didn't know I still haven't set up my old computer. It's out of the box but I promised myself I would get a list of things done before I started it up again. I only get to use the computer at night, when Jody gets home from work and he only gives me 15 minutes or so because he needs it for work. So this is why I haven't blogged much and unfortunately don't have much time to comment.


I am at my parents house for the rest of the week. I have spent the last two hours on the computer catching up! Totally ignoring Cohen and Rylee (although Rylee has been asleep in the swing) . So maybe the internet isn't a very healthy thing for me. I mean what a waste of the morning.


Over the next few days I hope to post a little bit more. And hopefully add some pics!

I almost forgot that part of the time I was on the internet today I was talking to Lindsey and Izzy on Skype. It was so cool! I had so much fun being dorky with Linds and trying to make Izzy laugh (which isn't too hard). When I get home I have to get a web cam.

Update

Things have been pretty boring since we got back from Georgia. It took us a few days to get back in the swing of things. The day after we got home Ammon took a nap at 3 in the afternoon and didn't wake up until 6 the next morning. Cohen adjusted by taking two naps for a couple days.

I have been so frustrated lately. I guess all of you with kids probably feel this way. I work ALL day to clean the house and within thirty minutes it can look like I did nothing! I am constantly picking up after everyone! It's so irritating. I hate having a messy house. It just makes me in a bad mood. I cleaned out toys last week and put the ones I am going to give to Good Will in a box in the garage, thinking the kids wouldn't see them. Unfortunately Ammon went straight to that box when he got home from preschool yesterday and was upset because I was giving his toys away. He wouldn't even have noticed if he hadn't seen the box. Oh well. I told him that some kids don't have toys and that he never plays with them. He was still upset. Oh well.

Last week I was feeling a little down because I never have time to myself. Then I went to the Relief Society Broadcast and was rejuvenated. I love how the leaders of our church help us to understand that we are doing the greatest work on this earth by being mothers. Sometimes I get exhausted with all the demands of being a mother to three small children but I know that there is nothing else I would rather be doing. It was such a great meeting. The only down side was not being able to sit by my mom.

The kids are doing great. Ammon has finally made a few new friends at school. He is also still very into imaginary play. No matter what we are watching he wants to be a character in that program. Last night we were watching Twitches, a Disney movie and he was so frustrated because he couldn't find a character to be, because they were all girls. He also had his first primary program last Sunday. He thought he was going to be "too shy" to say his part but he did great. He didn't sing much because he was too busy waving at us. Cohen is hilarious. He is such a talker. Already singing his ABC's and counting. He is also getting out of the pack and play now. I think it's about time for bunk beds. Unfortunately Rylee is still sleeping in her carseat at night. I haven't even tried the crib. I just don't want to disrupt her sleeping through the night. She sleeps for 9 or 10 hours every night and I don't want that to change! She has also started nursing every 4 hours. It is so great because I can leave her for a while without worrying. Plus while we were in Georgia I left her a few times and she took a bottle. She has also found her voice. I don't remember the boys being as loud. She squeals any time we look at or talk to her. She is such a joy.

Okay I'll Do It!

What is his name (husband) Jody. Real name Joseph Richard. His mom had a good friend in high school named Jody. She decided to name him Joseph but call him Jody. Cindy I'm still not sure how you got Jody out of Joseph.



How long have you been together? We have been married for 5 1/2 years.



How long did you date? Okay this is kind of embarrassing. We only dated for two weeks before we got engaged. But in our defense we were in the same ward and new each other for 6 months before we got married. We were already friends just had to see if the chemistry was there.



How old is he? 28



Who eats more? He does. I can definitely give him a run for his money but he eats more. Unless of course he is on his cabbage soup diet....



Who said I love you first? Don't remember but I think he did.



Who is taller? He is. I should hope considering I am only 5'4".



Who sings better? Neither of us have great voices but can both get through church without people staring at us. Our kids seem to enjoy it when we sing. Especially Rylee.



Who is smarter? He would say me. I would say him. He does well in subjects like math and science and I do better in English and History. Hopefully our kids will be well rounded in all subjects.



Whose temper is worse? Sadly, me. He is pretty mellow.



Who does the laundry? Me.



Who does the dishes? Both of us.



Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I always do. Don't know why. No matter where we go I always end up there.



Who pays the bills? me.



Who mows the lawn? Jody and he loves having a lawn to mow now.



Who cooks dinner? Me. I love to cook. Mostly because I love to eat.



Who drives when you are together? We both do.



Who is more stubborn? Unfortunately me. I don't like this, you are beginning to learn of my many shortcomings!



Who is the first to admit when they're wrong? Jody. I have come a long way. He even admits that.



Whose parents do you see the most? Mine because we live closer to them.



Who kissed who first? Um. We kissed each other at the same time.



Who asked who out? He asked me out. We used to go to Gold's Gym together every night with my roommate Melissa. For some reason she didn't go one night and on the way home he asked me out. It was in Provo and I remember that it was freezing. He kept talking and I just wanted to get into my apartment. I later realized that he was trying to get up the nerve to ask me out.



Who proposed? Jody. At the Denver temple when we were visiting my sister.



Who is more sensitive? he is. Sometimes we joke that he is the girl in the relationship and I am the boy (sorry Jody).



Who has more friends? I do.



Who has more siblings? me, by one.

3 months

We are in Knoxville visiting Gram and Gramps. Kasey and Sienna are here with us. We had a mini photo shoot for Rylee last night and Kasey took a couple hundred pics of her that are all adorable. We are having a great time on our trip. Tonight we head back to Atlanta for Jody's ten year reunion and then we go back to California Sunday morning.

It's been a while since I've posted pics of Rylee and she is getting so big! I had to take a second and put a few on.

Georgia

Surprisingly the flight from San Francisco to Atlanta was wonderful and relaxing, even with three kids. Cohen slept for the first two hours and Ammon watched Surf's Up, which was conveniently playing on the airplane. The flight was two-thirds full so we were able to bring Rylee's car seat on the plane. She slept most of the flight and the rest of the time she smiled and cooed at me.

Sarah and her family will be so happy to hear that we got to see Gideon Medley today at Stake Conference! He looks as cute as ever! We are going to Jen's house on Thursday for dinner and will get to visit with him more then. To see a picture of us with him click here. You can also see how chunky Rylee is getting!

I have been so excited for one of my oldest friends Celeste and her husband Drew about a week ago they found out that they were chosen to adopt a little boy who was born last Thursday in Louisiana. They are there picking him up right now and I can't wait to see more pictures of him. I'm not sure if they have chosen a name yet but last I heard it was going to be Ty or Boston. Both super cute!

Tomorrow Cindy is treating me to a mani/pedicure and then we are going boating on Jody's brothers boat. The boys are loving playing with their cousins and when Rylee is awake (not very often) she is getting very spoiled. Especially by her Aunt Jen. The other night Ammon was asking me to tell him all about his cousins. I was telling him about Megan,who is Jen's daughter in sixth grade (I think) and he said, "Is she the one who speaks English?" Um, okay that was random!

A problem?

After church on Sunday Ammon said, "Mom I have a problem."

ME: (thinking what possibly could be his problem) say, "What is your problem?"

Ammon: "Well at church today I was being really good and quiet and the teacher let me pass out the rice krispy treats and Max (his friend) got to pass out the napkins."

ME: Realizing he was done talking I said, "So what was the problem Ammon?"

Ammon: "That was my problem."

Okay sounds like a really big problem!

He's also been really concerned with death lately. Jody was talking about losing his hair the other day and Ammon got really scared and said, "I don't want you to die dad." We asked him why he thought daddy would die and he said because your losing your hair and getting old. We assured him he didn't need to worry about that anytime soon. My mom is here this week and he's already told her twice that she's a really good Grandma. When she asked him why he said, "you just are." What a sweetheart.

happenings

Nothing too exciting but thought a post was long overdue even without photos.

1. Ammon started preschool yesterday. When my mom asked what he learned he said "I learned the sand box, snack, painting and where the bathroom is." Let's hope he learns something a little more academic this year.

2. We spent the weekend at the lake and enjoyed being in the sun with friends and family. I especially enjoyed being able to swim and wakeboard this time.

3. Cohen is quite the copycat. The other day he dropped something and said, "oh geez, crap!"

4. I sent my laptop to my brother in law Matt today. Let's hope he can get it up and running again. If anyone can it will be Matt and he comes at such a great price, free!

5. I took my first quilting class last night. I was really nervous, considering I have never really used a sewing machine. Thank goodness the teacher was very nice and patient. I used all Amy Butler fabric and think it's going to be beautiful.

6. Rylee is still my dream baby. I seriously can't say enough about her. She just hangs out all the time. Tonight she sat in her car seat and watched me make dinner without making a peep. I assumed she was asleep. She is spoiling me.

7. Jody let me out by myself tonight for a few hours. It felt weird walking through the mall without a stroller but I'm not complaining. I went shopping for a dress to where to his high school reunion. I didn't find one.

8. I finished Eclipse. I loved it and love this series. I can't wait for number four.

9. My mom is coming next week and I can't wait to have someone to hang out with! We head to Georgia next Friday to see Jody's family. It should interesting flying with three kids.

10. That's about it. I got my old computer out and need to hook the internet up to it and then I will be back in the blogging world. It's been weird not having the internet all day long. I didn't realize how much time I wasted on it.

Crash

Yes my laptop crashed last week. I am not sure if it is salvageable yet. My brother says I may have burnt my hard drive up. For now I won't be posting until I get my PC out of the garage and find a place for it. Good thing I didn't sell it like I was planning. Hang tight until I get things back together. It's rough not having the internet until Jody gets home with his laptop at night so I'm sure I won't be gone long!

Oh we went to my parent's new home over the weekend and Ammon stayed the week with them. Their house is so beautiful. My mom did an amazing job of planning and decorating it. Can't wait for everyone to go home and see it!

Our week

Daddy daughter time.

This is Train Town. We took Cohen there on Saturday for his 2nd birthday. The train is miniature as well as the rest of the town. The train takes you for a twenty minute ride through tunnels, around water falls, bridges and to a petting zoo. Everything is child size and absolutely adorable. The kids had a blast. After the train ride Ammon went on the carousel, Ferris wheel and a few roller coasters.

All aboard! Cohen was saying that the rest of the day.

Two months old and as sweet as ever. Rylee is an amazing baby. If she isn't sleeping she just hangs out. She is really starting to smile and coo at us. She is still sleeping great at night. Waking up only once. Last night she went to bed at 10:30 and woke at 5:30 and again at 8:30. She is the best! I finally got rid of her baby rash/acne. A friend suggested Cortaid and it worked miracles on her skin.

The kids were out back playing and we decided to give them a bath before putting on p.j.'s. Good thing because the bath was disgusting when they were finished!

The company is gone but I have still been super busy. We haven't even had birthday cake or presents for Cohen yet, luckily he is only two and doesn't understand the birthday thing. But I will be having a belated party for him, just so I can have some pictures .

I heart sisters

The other day Alex asked whether I would like a boy or girl for my next child. I said I didn't really care. My mom was in the room and said, "Of course you do. You want a girl. Rylee needs a sister." Duh of course! Rylee totally needs a sister. I love my sisters! They are my best friends, confidants, therapists and SO much more. Alex and I drove back from McKinleyville yesterday and I look forward to spending the week with her.

Alex is very into music and knows every band and every song on the radio. We are polar opposites when it comes to this. I was telling her that I don't remember the last time I switched the c.d. playing in my car and even rarely turn it on. Well we started talking about how great the music was in the nineties. She started naming songs like Torn by Natalie Imbruglia and then Stay by Lisa Loeb. I loved Stay and remember playing it over and over. Well we couldn't remember the tune and it was killing us. So we called Kasey. When in doubt call Kasey. She is my go to girl. Before we knew it she googled the lyrics and we were all three singing Stay, in the car, with Kasey on speaker phone. It was off tune and totally out of sync but a memory I will never forget. It also made me miss Lindsey. I can't wait for the day when we can leave our kids at home and go on a trips together. Sisters are priceless.

Ammon and Alexa got soaked running through water fountains but they loved it. Aunt Alex was great to have around that day because she was able to take Cohen on a few rides while I watched Rylee and Sienna.

Before most of our company came Alex went swimming with us at a local community pool. Ammon basically taught himself how to swim that day and Cohen wanted to be in the water the whole time. Doesn't Rylee look sexy in her skimpy bikini?

Jody bought Ammon a tent for his birthday and they are suppose to start a tradition of sleeping in it every Friday night, in the backyard. I have a feeling that Cohen will be joining them soon.

My sweet baby girl finally has her eyes open! She still sleeps most of the day but when she is awake she just looks around and checks us all out. She is the best baby! I feel like she is growing up way too quickly. She is already starting to grow out of some of her clothes. I already miss her first days of life. I guess I will definitely be having more children! I couldn't imagine not doing this again. She has started to smile more in the last few days. Poor thing has been suffering from a rash on her face. I think it's from the heat. Hopefully it will go away before we go to Humboldt. Sometimes she looks just like Ammon and other times Cohen. I think she's a mix of the two. But I am pretty sure she is going to have blue eyes.

These boys are hilarious. Ammon has been watching Star Wars again and is Yoda half the day and Underdog the other half. Underdog, the movie, doesn't come out until Friday but he has his costume already. Yesterday Cohen was walking around with this black hat on that my parents brought back from London. I asked him why he was wearing it and he said, "I'm Darth Vader mom." Pretty smart kid because it is similar to Vader's helmet. I assumed Ammon had thought of it for him but nope he said he didn't! Just one of the many ways that Cohen is trying to be just like his big brother. They are so cute together. I was talking on the phone to Lindsey this morning and changing Cohen's diaper at the same time. I mentioned something about Target and Cohen got all excited and said, "I want to go to Target." Then he yelled to Ammon who was in the bathtub, "Hey Ammon do you want to go to Target?" Both of my boys love Target. I wonder who they get that from?
