Lake Trip
We went to Trinity Lake a couple of weekends ago and I'm just getting around to posting about it. It was a quick trip. Jody had a meeting in SF all day Friday and didn't get home until six. So we packed the kids up and were on the road by seven and arrived at camp by midnight.
Are beloved lake.
When Ammon went to the lake with my mom in July he built himself a fort. The picture doesn't do it justice. It was pretty cool and I was impressed!
This boy is all about deer and all about hunt'in (that's how he says it) right now. We usually make it to Trinity Alps at least once each time we go to the lake. We go for ice cream and the kids love to play on the bridge, go in the game room or play outside on the swings. Ammon was looking for deer the whole trip. After ice cream his grandma took him on a drive to look for deer and they saw one!

Best Buddies.

Jody got Ammon to go wake boarding with him. Next year he plans to do it himself. That kind of scares me but I guess I was skiing by seven.
The most entertaining part of the trip was my dad's turtle hunting. We make him do it at least once every time we go. It's actually really fun and suspenseful. We drive close to the bank until we see a turtle . Then he swims very quietly until he gets close and then ducks under water and comes right up on it and grabs it. They are actually very quick and hard to get. This time he got one his first time. We all love it! Such a talent to be a good turtle hunter. After he catches it he brings it back to the boat for the kids to examine and touch and then he lets it go.

Cohen's Party
I'm so behind on blogging. Pardon me as I play catch up. This could take a while!
This was a big birthday for Cohen. He'd been planning it for months. Everytime we went to the store he would tell me at least fifty items he wanted for his birthday. I would just say okay Cohen we'll get that for your birthday. Luckily he forgot it most of the items.

Funky Monkey was the perfect place to have his party. All I did was show up and it was taken care of. He got to see some of his best friends, eat pizza, cupcakes, ice cream and play games. It was the night before school started so it wasn't very busy. Cohen was having so much fun that he didn't stop to use the bathroom and peed in his pants. Luckily his friend Chase had a pair of extra clothes. Can you imagine having to leave your own party to go home and change? That would have been horrible.
Ammon thought this picture was funny. He said it looks like Cohen doesn't have any friends.
Ah there are his friends. From back left to front right. Brynn, Jordan, Cohen, Rawni, William, Jacob, Ammon and Chase. Not pictured was Faith.

The funky monkey even came out to greet the birthday boy. Cohen thinks a lot has changed since he's turned 4. Like he doesn't have to ride in a car seat, anymore. He's 37 pounds he may move up to a booster this year. If I ask him to do something he says, "but I'm four now." Such a fun, smart little boy. We love you Co-boy!

Help!

Remember this post? Unfortunately I didn't get much response so I'm asking one more time! My cousin has been working so hard on this project and I so want to help her succeed and see that all of her work has helped these poor children in need. If you can donate anything or purchase one ticket for $5 it would help so much. Please contact me at kellyiorg@gmail.com if you would like to donate. Thank you!

First Grader
Ammon started first grade last week. He is super excited to be a "First Grader" and he tells everyone he talks to that he's in first grade now. Sometimes multiple times. The morning of school he woke up at 6:30 (way earlier than usual) ,came in our bed and said, "I can't believe I'm going to be in first grade!" His teacher this year is Ms. Rosen and he has six boys from his Kindergarten class in the same class again. I don't get very many details about school from him but he seems to be enjoying it and is excited to go every day. Honestly I can't believe he's in first grade either!

Grandmom and Grandad!
The boys loved having a playmate for the week (Larry). He'll wrestle with them and play silly games. Rylee was all over him too. She also loved her Grandmom and would surprise her with hugs and kisses during the day.
We are so glad they are coming back after Tate is born. It's so nice to have company around to help out and break up the routine!

Happy 4th Cohen

Cohen has grown up so much just in the last few months. One thing I thought I'd never say is that he is easy now, sometime easier than Ammon.
-He has a mind of his own and doesn't care what anyone thinks and he thinks he is always right. Sometimes he tries to tell me I'm driving the wrong direction, as if I don't know where I'm going and he does.
-A few months ago his favorite color was pink and when his brother told him that pink was a girl color he'd say, "I don't care I like it." To his dad's delight he's over the pink phase now.
-Cohen always has to wear shorts or "little pants." He is slightly OCD about things. Like his hair, clothes, toys and food.
-He doesn't like to share his food. He wants it all to himself, which I'm certain he gets from me. But he does share other things quite well.
-He has a Major sweet tooth. He'll do anything for sugar and if he gets in trouble, oh well he got his sugar and it's worth it to him!
-Cohen is an amazing sleeper. He takes a nap every day and often sleeps in past eight in the morning. Each day he asks me, "what are we going to do today mom?"
-He loves his sister "Roo, Roozy, Roo-girl". They play pretty well together and she loves him just as much.
-Cohen can't wait until his baby brother Tate is here. He tells me he will protect Tate from Rylee because she is mean to babies (which she isn't) and that he is going to help me take care of the baby.
-He still says his L's with a W sound. "I wuv you mommy".
-He's become the daredevil in the family. Before this summer he was afraid of everything and now he enjoys everything. We went to the fair last week and wanted to go on every ride. Jody was throwing the boys into the pool pretty high the other day and Cohen wanted to go higher each time. Ammon was done after a few throws but Cohen wanted more.
-If I disagreed, told him no or to stop doing something yesterday he would say, "You can't be mean to people on their birthday."
-He's a mommy's boy.

Tonight is his birthday party at the Funky Monkey. We actually had to talk him into it because he really wanted a water party at home but I'm not feeling up to a home party these days. One where I just show up sounds much better! We had cake and ice cream Monday night with Jody's parents (still need to blog about their visit).
He tells me that he will have this party, a water party next year and then no more birthdays because he is going to stay my little boy forever. I wish.
