24th of July

Rylee's buddy Lucas

Cohen and Maddie

Rylee's first time on a horse. She was nervous at first and thought the horse was going to "get me" but loved it after she got going.

My boys are over being led by someone. Ammon asked if he could ride by himself because he wanted to go faster.

In our church we celebrate the 24th of July. It's a day we remember the pioneers who forged their way to Utah through harsh conditions to be able to worship in peace instead of constant persecution. The Santa Rosa Stake (we are in Windsor this weekend) had a big Hoe Down in honor of that trek, the pioneers made. It was a very fun evening, especially for the kids. They had pony rides, a petting zoo, three-legged races, sack races, food, blackberry picking, a mini fair and also broke a Guinness Book record for the most people dancing in a dance called the Virgina Reel. It was great to see good friends and be outside in beautiful Sonoma County.

No more mop head.

Cohen's hair was getting a bit out of control. I would cut it and two weeks later it would look too long again. So we talked him into letting us cut it short. It hasn't been this short since before he was two. I have to admit I was a little nervous. After he it was cut and I saw the final look I couldn't believe we hadn't done it sooner! He looks older and you can see his cute little face much better. He LOVES the new look and couldn't way to show everyone. He's obsessed with wanting a mohawk and is constantly asking everyone if his mohawk is messed up.

My little Tate is obsessed with stairs now. He crawls up them so fast. He doesn't seem to want to crawl back down so that is good but I think he's a little too young to trust him so we have to barricade all stairs. He's also at the stage where everything goes in his mouth. So every time I go to someones house I have to scan the floor and eye the stairs. Besides those two things I love this age!

Summer 2010

So much to blog. Some of my favorite moments, for now, in pictures. The Henry's were here for almost three weeks and two days later we went to Trinity Lake and spent a week on houseboats with my parents, the Payne's and the O'hares. It's been a great summer filled with wonderful memories. Details. Yes details to come.

Seven!

Ammon turned 7 on June 23rd. I asked him if he wanted to have a party before he came to live in McKinleyville for the summer but he said he wanted to have Jake, Lex, Kaden and Alexa at his party because they never get to be at his birthday. We took the kids to laser tag and then had cupcakes and opened presents. After laser tag we came back to my parents house grilled hamburgers and the kids played baseball with Jody. The next day (on Ammon's real birthday) I took the kids to see Karate Kid II and we had Ammon's choice, taco's, for dinner.

Ammon is obsessed with German Shepard dogs because my parents neighbor's have one named King. So when we went to Target a few days before Ammon's birthday I wasn't surprised that Ammon was begging me to buy him a toy one. Kasey bought the dog to surprise Ammon with on his birthday but we found out at the party that Alexa had actually already told him he was getting it. He also got a car that goes up walls, a wii game called Sing It, a couple of new DS games, battleship, and a guitar. Oh and Alex got him a webkinz dog.

He is growing up way too quickly. Ammon is such an easy, fun kid. He gets excited about everything and truly enjoys life to the fullest.
