Yoga for Change

My cousin Lani has signed up to participate in Off the Mat, Into the World's Seva Challenge. This is an orgainization based on taking the principles learned in yoga out into the community and world to make a difference. Every year they choose an area of the world to focus the fundraising efforts on and this year it is the incredibly war torn and poverty stricken Uganda. Her goal is to raise $20,000 for some amazing organizations doing work in Uganda. She has started a blog where you can learn more about this challenge, the organizations involved and follow the progress toward reaching her goal. Please check it out:

80% of the money raised goes to the organizations they are working with for Uganda and 20% stays here in the US for programs for at risk youth. There are people all over the world, including here in the US, that could use help, but we have to focus on one area at a time. The struggle of the people of Uganda is truly heart wrenching.
